Everything is stored as plain files on your filesystem. No cloud account required for local use. No proprietary database. If Notidian disappears tomorrow, you have a folder of markdown files.
When you enable experimental Notidian Sync, your data is encrypted before it leaves your device. The sync server stores ciphertext manifests and blobs for your own devices only. Direct Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and iCloud integrations are not the v1 sync path; keep an independent backup while the two-client QA gate is still running.
